The Port of Durres is the main port of Albania, an essential part of the regional transport network and a principal port in the Adriatic for the European Corridor VIII. It accounts for 78% of Albanian Maritime Trade. The Durres Port Authority handles all types of cargo, including dry bulk, breakbulk, general cargo, chemicals, dangerous cargo, containers, cement, minerals, construction material, foodstuff, steel, etc.

Within the ADRIPASS project, the Port of Durres prepared a pre-investment study for setting up the Durres Port Community Information System – PCS. It constitutes a useful guidance document for all the ports that want to exchange information with the port of Durres, thus increasing the Durres Port efficiency, security, and performance. The study defines all ADRIPASS project components, including software and hardware requirements, the modules to be implemented according to the vessel, truck, and rail functionalities.

Thanks to the ADRIPASS project, the pre-investment study has achieved and fulfilled its objectives, goals, and expected results – defining all technical and functional specifications, time, and budget calculation for effective and successful implementation of the integrated Durres Port Community System in collaboration with the interested companies. Following its final approval, it will be made available to all interested stakeholders.
